In 1992 Bradford Davis agreed to turn some of his farmland into a golf course. Dave Penders, a friend of the Davis family, had conceived the idea and soon Dave and six other members of the Davis family began joint ownership of the project. Dave and Dale Davis developed the design and layout and construction got underway in 1993. In 1995, nine holes were opened for play and the back nine were opened in August of 1996. In February 1998, Dave and Dale bought the business from the Davis family. In the spring of 1998, construction began on a new clubhouse. The structure replaces an older building and recalls the grand old barn of the Davis Dairy Farm. Out on the back nine, a pond has been created that affects play on three holes. The par-3, No. 14 was made a little longer by about 12 yards. Hole No. 15 has a new tee-box and is also somewhat longer. An elevated tee was built on hole No. 12. This championship-size tee makes the par-5 play to 530 yards, an increase of about 30 yards. Looking even further into the future, Dave and Dale just recently purchased 50 more acres of land, which adjoins the golf course. |
