Featuring the Morgan Twins

Phoenix is a country rock band consisting of vocalist Rhian & Cara Morgan, bassist Mike Putori, drummer Steve Molins and Mike Iten on Guitar, harmonica and vocals.

This Pavilion based band prefers a stripped down sound with only the essential instruments and plays a mix of country, classic rock n' roll and pop.

The bands separate members mesh well together despite their varied backgrounds and musical inspirations. Cara Morgan a graduate student at Nazareth college, names Carrie Underwood and Whitney Houston as some of her biggest inspirations. Rhian Morgan, a graduate student studying nursing is a fan of Gretchen Wilson and Christina Aguilera. Mike Iten, an English teacher at Pavilion High School is a fan of the Beatles. Mike Putori, who has been playing since high school said,

as a bassist, he admires Stanley Clarke, John Entwisle and Geddy Lee. Steve Molins, his uncle Chaz who plays drums professionally was his inspiration to start playing drums and a few of his favorite bands are Primus and Led Zeppelin. Each band member enjoys preforming together, Iten said "the more I play the more I want to play. Now that our group has coalesced, I enjoy practice nearly as much as the experience of performing in front of an audience." PHOENIX plays each month at BW's, the restaurant is home base and where the band practices. Visit the PHOENIX website at
